A few days ago, they released an IDPS Dumper for PS3 4.81, and promised more things for 4.81 owners, including a Homebrew Enabler (HEN) for all PS3 models, as well as software downgraders for compatible consoles.Īlthough nobody has confirmed it yet, it is very likely that firmware 4.82 patches, at least partially, some of the exploits used by the PS3Xploit team. The announce was quickly followed by a leak which forced the hackers to release things a bit faster than expected. Last week, an exploit for 4.81, codenamed PS3Xploit, was announced by developer esc0rtd3w. But a few hours ago, Sony released firmware 4.82, and this does not feel like a coincidence. PS3 Firmware 4.81 was released more than a year ago by Sony, and most of us expected it to be the last firmware ever for the PS3.
